Colleges at the heart of Paralympic Handover
On 17th September, the Paralympic Flag will be handed from the Mayor of Beijing to the Mayor of London. This final Handover Ceremony marks the start of the build up to the London 2012 Games and the beginning of the London 2012 Education Programme. This programme aims to create a once in a generation Games experience for young people, inspiring them to fulfil their potential and create long-term benefits for themselves and their communities.
Colleges, along with schools and other places of learning right across the UK are being asked to develop their own specific plans for celebrations. Any college that registers by 25th June will be in with a chance of winning a trip to the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games for one of their students (accompanied by an adult).
