Thinking Ahead: HEIs Preparing for the 2012 Games
A one-day seminar focusing on the HE sector’s preparation for the 2012 Games will be held on Thursday 10th July 2008, 9.30am -4pm. The seminar, the latest in UUK’s Talking Shop series, will be run by UUK and GuildHE in cooperation with Podium, and will be targeted primarily at communications and marketing staff.
The seminar will be chaired by the Rt. Hon. Baroness Blackstone, Vice-Chancellor, University of Greenwich and Chair of Podium Steering Group. Other confirmed speakers include Professor Ian Henry, Director of the Centre for Olympic Studies and Research, Chris Earle, Director of Sport, Loughborough University, Gareth Smith, Deputy Director of Podium, as well as representatives from LOCOG.
The focus of the seminar will be the opportunities for HEIs and the scope for increasing and promoting participation in the run-up to the 2012 Games.
