Hertfordshire Schools Get Set
As a major part of its, Ready for Winners initiative, Hertfordshire County Council is encouraging every school and college in the county to sign up to Get Set and take advantage of this fantastic free resource which uses the London 2012 Games to inspire children and young people.
Earlier this year, the Ready for Winners Partnership launched a competition to get schools signed up to Get Set. Schools simply registered for Get Set and were entered into a prize draw to win an inspirational visit from an Olympic or Paralympic athlete.
The Partnership has also been promoting Get Set through schools bulletins, in all its Partnership publications and those of their partner organisations. Local media has also played a big part in getting the message across to the target audiences – Headteachers, teachers and tutors, governors, parents, children and young people.
The latest figures show that through this dynamic approach Hertfordshire has achieved the highest sign up in the region at 23.56%, compared to the next nearest of 17.26%.
