Olympic champion Jonathan Edwards goes ‘back to school’
Pupils at Netherhall School in Cambridge recently met Olympian Jonathan Edwards as part of their preparation for Lloyds TSB National School Sport Week - an initiative that will use the power of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games to inspire more young people across Britain to do more sport.
The week, which runs from 29 June to 3 July 2009, will inspire millions of young people in more than 10,000 schools across the country to take part in more sport. So far over 140 schools within Cambridge, including Netherhall School, have pledged to participate in Lloyds TSB National School Sport Week. The initiative supports the Government’s PE and Sport Strategy for Young People.
Schools, community centres and organisations in the Cambridge area who would like to become involved in Lloyds TSB National School Sport Week should visit www.schoolsportweek.org.
