Second Synergy event wins eastern region's seventh cultural Inspire Mark
Norfolk's second Synergy event : The Lifestyles Festival will take place on 10 - 13 July at Hunstanton on the north Norfolk coast.
This is the second in a series of Synergy events taking place in Norfolk in the run up to 2012 and the second to win an Inspire Mark. Synergy began last year at Whitlingham Outdoor Centre near Norwich. That event created a "Synergy concept" - a set of values that will support large events and the organisations that run them to be more ambitious, exuberant and sustainable.
A Synergy event ...
·Creates original cultural and sporting collaborations
·Promotes healthy lifetstyles
·Encourages sustainability by promoting sustainable travel
·Secures a legacy through robust evaluation
·Secures a legacy by broadening partnerships
·Involves young people in the planning, development and delivery of the event
The Lifestyles Festival celebrates the culture behind active, outdoor lifestyles and is host to the National Kite Surfing Championships as well as skateboarding, BMX and inline skating competitions. This year as a result of Synergy - there'll be added vibrancy with capoeira, street dance, grafitti, busking with taster workshops as well as a chance to try power kiting, sea kayaking and climbing. The highlight of the weekend is a massive spectacular performance from internationally renowned Walk the Plank. For more information seewww.norfolk.gov.uk
