Step into Sport 2008/09
Step into Sport Community Volunteering is aimed at young people aged between 16-19 years who have undertaken some leadership training previously.
Community Volunteering aims to provide volunteer placements in a local community sports club or other community group such as a youth club to young people who are at school or college.
Potential young volunteers that have shown an interest in Step into Sport Community Volunteering are currently being identified by their schools and colleges. If you would like to be involved speak to your school or college tutor as soon as you can to find out more information.
This year Community Volunteers will have the opportunity, along with other students on the Step into Sport programme, to attend Leadership Academies which aim to provide training opportunities and qualifications to support young volunteers in their placements... look out for more information about Leadership Academies from your school or college... COMING SOON!
FINDING A PLACEMENT
So you would like to volunteer in a local club!... BUT you don't know where to go? Don't worry, your school or college and team BEDS&LUTON are here to help...
...First start by thinking about what you would like to do. What is your favourite sport; football, gymnastics, netball or do you want to try something completely different... cheerleading?
Once you know what sport you would like to volunteer in think about your role. Would you like to develop your experience and skills in coaching? or do you have a secret talent for web design? perhaps socialising is more your thing and you would like to be a clubs social secretary!

It may be the that you have links with a local club and would like to develop a volunteer placement there? or perhaps you are already volunteering and would like to join the Step into Sport programme.
