Regional Extension Centre
There are two regional extension centres. One held at Bedford and the other at Colchester.
Sophie Stainton is an athelte on the Regional Extension Centre programme, here she gives her account of the programme:
"Attending the Regional Extension Centre has been an enjoyable experience, which I feel has improved both my technical netball skills and my fitness. I've had the chance to work with brilliant coaches, as well as a small group of around 10 girls, all of which I get along well with. We are able to have fun as well as working hard on training to improve our overall game play. We spend each session working on a different aspect of a game, including sessions such as defending or working on ways to get free for a pass. All of the players give each other encouragement and support, which makes us all play to the best of our ability and feel as though training is enjoyable rather than a chore (even though it is every other week). Overall the time I've spent training at the Regional Extension Center has helped me enormously in progressing in my netball career and is an experience I would highly recommend any player to take up if they are given the opportunity."
