Summer Camp
East Region Excel Camp 2011
We are very excited to announce the upcoming East Region Excel Camp which is taking place 7th -12th August at Framlingham College, Suffolk. Twenty-five athletes were selected to attend the camp; they range from U19 Excel to top County Academy standard and vary in age from 12 years – 18 years.
The athletes will be coached by Regional Excel Coaches Dannii Titmuss, Jo Webb and Emma Blackmore and some additional invited Coaches. Steph Hart will also be there as Team Manager.
The Excel Pathway is focused on developing athletes to reach their potential and it is hoped the camp will contribute to this development and learning. Athletes were invited to boost their training hours, as an introduction to a camp environment, or if they were new to Excel. The East Region has been working closely with London & South Region and 5 of their athletes will also be attending camp.
This will be an intense training week and will cover areas of Lifestyle, Invasion Games, Strength & Conditioning and Brain & Belief.
The camp content will be as follows (subject to change):
Monday: Time Management Theory Session. Invasion Games and Ball & Wall Practical Sessions. Pool Recovery.
Tuesday: Yoga, Mental Toughness and Netball Attacking & Invasion Defending Principles Practical Sessions. Training diary analysis. Nutrition, Video Analysis & Psychology Theory Sessions (over Tues, Weds & Thurs).
Wednesday: Endurance and Netball Defending Principle Sessions. Nutrition & Recovery theory session. Pool Recovery.
Thursday: Endurance and Match Play Practical Sessions. S&C Theory Session and Pool Recovery.
Friday: Netball, Ball & Wall and Invasion Games Practical Sessions
