YOUNG PLAYER PROFILE - JASMINE HATHERLY
14 year old Jasmine Hatherly has obtained the East Region Talent Development Most Improved Player of the Year .
What school and club do you attend?
I attend Goffs School and play for Turnford Netball Club.
What level are you at with exams?
First year of GCSEs
How long have you played netball?
I have been playing netball since the age of 8.
What is your current level of play?
I am in the East Region Talent Development squad.
Do you play any other sport?
Yes, I swim on a regular basis.
Who has had the biggest influence on
your Netball career so far?
Carole Titmuss has been the biggest influence in my netball career so far. She has supported me on and off the court and has given me great encouragement.
How often do you train?
I train twice a week at Goffs Sports Hall and at Middlesex University.
Do you have a log book to complete?
Yes, and I try very hard to be honest as I know it is for my benefit.
What sacrifices have you made to fit in your playing?
I don’t see it as a sacrifice, I enjoy the sport.
Who is your favourite sports personality? Amanda Newton, of course.
Do you come from a sporting family?
Yes, my mum played netball and was involved in athletics where she met my dad who was also involved in athletics. My younger sister is also a netball fanatic and would play every day if she could.
What is your most memorable match?
Winning the U14 Nationals. It was so uplifting and I did not stop smiling for days.
What are your next ambitions at netball? To make the England squad.
What do you want to do when you leave school?
I have got no idea at the moment, but I do want to stay on for the sixth form and then go to university, so hopefully I will decide after that.
