Big Lottery Fund
The school sport partnership has previously been able to put on such a wide variety of activity from funding via the Big Lottery Fund.The Big Lottery Fund supported ‘Out of School Hours Learning’ activity to increase the amount of opportunities children have to take part in school sport between the age of 5 -16yrs.
Activity could take place before school, at lunchtime or after school and usually targeted towards a certain group of children, for example those who are disengaged from PE and school sport or those who have poor basic skills in physical activity. Schools in the first phase of the Partnership have been given the opportunity to get involved in some of the following;
- Basic Moves
- Street Dance
- Basketball
- Orienteering
- Badminton
- Archery
- Golf
- Baton Twirling
- Leisure Centre Fitness
- Buddying
- Indoor Rowing
Schools who joined the Partnership during September 2007 received 3 years of funding to develop their out of school hours learning in some of the following.

- Karate
- Outdoor Adventurous Activities
- Table Tennis
- Indoor Rowing
- Martial Arts
- Leisure Centre Fitness
