Leadership & Volunteering

The Partnership is always looking at ways to promote the development of leadership qualities in all the students coming through our schools. We feel that involving them in leadership courses and activities will help them to develop as individuals and improve their communication skills, learning experience, self confidence and leadership qualities - all traits which can be transferred into other areas of education as well as life outside of school.

This section holds details on some of the main areas of leadership covered by the Partnership.

The Partnership has drawn up a Leadership Ladder of opportunity. It offers suggestions for activities and demonstrates how leadership training can become an integral part of the school curriculum and can be extended to benefit the wider community. It details progression in training from year 1 to 13 and includes references to the National Curriculum whilst providing examples of good practice. To view details please click here

We recognise that all children should be encouraged to take responsibility for their own fitness whilst working towards building a healthier society. Play Leader training is taking place in our Lower Schools. Attractive resources have been presented to schools who have registered an interest in promoting Physical Activity during break times. Young Leader training now forms part of the P.E. curriculum in our Middle Schools and our Upper Schools work to further develop pupil leadership skills by delivering Sports Leader instruction. Pupils from Year 10 and above are able to participate in an exciting and varied programme of activities which forms part of our Leadership Academy initiative. 'Step into Sport' volunteers from our sixth forms are already gaining sport related experience by working in Community Clubs.

Our Leaders are invited to assist in the organisation of festivals and tournaments, where outstanding involvement is recognised by the presentation of a 'Leader of the Festival' award.
