Kwik Cricket Festival

The Redborne SSP ran its annual kwik cricket festivals on the 23rd and 25th June. The 23rd June was held at Henlow Cricket Club and the 25th June was run at Ampthill Cricket Club.

Over the 2 dates 370 pupils took part from 33 lower schools and this year saw the introduction of some new rules. The rules were adapted in partnership with the ECB to make the game more exciting and easy to play for pupils. With no more time restrictions it allowed all pupils the chance to bat and bowl.

Sports leaders from Redborne Upper School and Young Leaders from Alameda and Henlow Middle Schools supported the Redborne SSP by umpiring, keeping score and assisting with the running of the festivals. The group stages kicked off the festivals. The winners from each group went through to the semi-finals, and the 2nd placed teams went through to play-offs. The winner of each semi-final went into the final, which was played alongside the 3rd/4th play-offs.

The winners now progress onto the county Kwik Cricket final on the 6th July @ Kempston CC. Good luck.
