Lower school pupils Olympic pledge

As the National School Games programme takes hold in our schools, the Partnership is looking at new ways in which to engage young people regarding the Olympic games.

At each competition we will endeavour to provide new experiences for young people to increase their understanding of the Olympics and inspire them in what will be a fantastic games in 2012.

At the recent Sports hall Athletics festivals we ran an Olympic pledge programme, inviting all lower school pupils to make their own pleadge for 2012. Below are some of their thoughts;

Chalton Lower Key Stage 1

Charlotte will be practising her skipping skills. Samuel will go to his swimming training sessions regularly.

Chalton Lower School Key Stage 2

When swimming, Alyssa will improve upon the way that she gets into the water. When playing tennis, Michael will try to always focus on the ball.

Templefield Lower School Key Stage 1

Corrine will practise running on tip-toes in Gymnastics. Ella will try to jump higher.

Templefield Lower School Key Stage 2

Charlotte is going to improve her tumble turns when swimming. Jamie will practise his skipping skills to improve his fitness for boxing.

Toddington St George Lower School Key Stage 1

Annie-May will work on returning the ball in Tennis. Reece will improve his concentration and listening skills during Football coaching sessions.

Toddington St George Lower School Key Stage 2

William will practise passing the ball accurately in Football. Izzy will work hard to improve her flips on the trampoline.

Kingsmoor Lower School Key Stage 1

Niamh will watch the ball all of the time in Football. Kennedy will practise balancing in Gymnastics.

Kingsmoor Lower School Key Stage 2

Emily is going to practise her gymnastic exercises and communicate with the coach more. Sean is determined to improve his swings in Golf.

Flitwick Lower School Key Stage 1

Sammy will practise dribbling using different parts of the foot in Football. Luke will attend football training sessions more regularly.

Flitwick Lower School Key stage 2

Ross will refine his catching skills in Cricket. Tom will work on tying knots in Angling.

Church End Lower School Key Stage 1

Jaydon will improve his general fitness, which will help him to play better in Football. Rae will continue to practise her forward walkovers in Gymnastics.

Church End Lower School Key Stage 2

Archie will concentrate and focus on his tasks in Archery. Leah will practise ‘taking off’ when jumping. Tia will increase the number of swimming training sessions that she attends. Chelsea will work to refine her running technique.

Cranfield Lower School

Harry will try to join a Cricket club. Hannah will practise her catching, which will assist with her goal-keeping in Football.

Thomas Johnson Lower School Key Stage 1

Callum will improve his football skills by working to improve his’ kick ups’. Cameron will work on balancing in Gymnastics.

Thomas Johnson Lower School Key Stage 2

Erin will work to improve her front crawl arm movements in Swimming. Elliott will be trying hard to improve his shooting accuracy in Football.

Shelton Lower School Key Stage 1

Thomas will ensure that he always throws the ball backwards in Rugby. Kallum will be running on different ground and working hard to get faster.

Shelton Lower School Key Stage 2

Connor will be improving his passing accuracy in Football. Rohit will practise bowling in Cricket Eversholt Lower School In Gymnastics, Eloisa will work harder on the vault. Cathal will practise shots at goal in Football.

Russell Lower School Key Stage 2

Tilly will work on her shooting skills in Netball. Halle will always challenge herself when horse riding.

Greenfield Lower School Key Stage 1

Flynn will find different ways of moving the ball around the field in Football. A.J. will practise tricks and skills when dancing.

Sundon Lower School Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2

Rhys will work at being a good butterfly swimmer Freya will try to jump higher when trampolining.

Silsoe Lower School

Shana will learn how to carry out a free jump in Ice Skating. Kodie will pay attention to her Teacher’s instructions when dancing.

Ramsey Manor Lower School

Libby will work on mounting and dismounting during her horse-riding lessons. Finlay will try to improve his shooting in Football.

Maulden Lower School Key Stage 1

Charlotte will work to get faster in Athletics by thinking about how her arms should be positioned. Grace would like to improve her posture when trampolining and make sure that she doesn’t wobble.

Maulden Lower School Key Stage 2

Taryn will think about her position on the court in Netball. Finn will work at careful tackling and shooting in Football.

Pulloxhill Lower School Key Stage 1

James will practise different ways of kicking in Football. Catrin will work out exercises that get harder and harder to improve her skills in ball games.

Gothic Mede Lower School

Shannon will practise ballet after her lessons, at home. Thomas will increase the number of training sessions that he takes part in, when playing football. Alissa will make sure that she warms up her muscles and then practises her dance moves. Olivia will make sure that she thinks about where she will be passing the ball.

Fairfield Lower School

Sophie will be working even harder in her Swimming lessons. Imogen will try to catch the ball more often in Netball. Nathan will try to play tennis against different opponents. Joshua will work to improve his balancing when Skateboarding. Jules will look for a target before passing the ball in Bench ball

Derwent Lower School

Abbie will practise her dance steps regularly. Jordan will work at striking the ball in Cricket. Amelia will work on improving her hand-stands in Gymnastics Alex will practise shooting so that penalty shots can be taken in Football.

Roecroft Lower School

Charlie is determined to go up to another level in Tennis. Harriet will continue to cycle safely but will try to go faster.

All Saints Lower School

Jake will practise entering the water safely and quickly during swimming lessons. Jess will practise her gymnastics moves more frequently. Jack will practise his running techniques so that he can run faster. Ben will attend wrestling training more regularly.

Roecroft Lower School

Ella will improve her cycling skills by ensuring that she can ride in a straight line. Joseph will listen very carefully to his teacher so that he can improve his running technique.

Stondon Lower School

Robert will spend more time running. Milly will put more expression into her Cheer-leading.

Langford Lower School

Grace will hit the ball harder when playing Golf. Teo will work to improve his tackling in Rugby.

Shefford Lower School and Shillington Lower School

Lola will concentrate on balance, when horse-riding. Alex will always focus on the position of the ball in table tennis. Amelia will work on her jumping skills in Gymnastics. Liam will try to pass accurately in Tag Rugby. Joseph will make sure that he knows where he is aiming for, in long jump. Ellie Mae will try to fit her dance moves in with the music.
