Sportshall Athletics Results

Last week saw the completion of our first lower school Level 2 School Games competition.

With 31 lower schools taking part and just under 700 pupils from Key Stage 1 and 2, this really was a great way to start the years competition calendar.

Congratulations to all who took part, it was great to see so many young people engaged in sporting competition.

A big thank you to Robert Bloomfield and Marston Vale Middle Schools for hosting the events and allowing the Partnership to use some of their year 8 pupils as leaders. Both sets of year 8 pupils did a fantastic job in conducting warm ups and running stations for the lower school children and were a real credit to both schools.

As the London 2012 Olympic Games draws ever closer we are looking to inspire our young people in all compeition. The Sportshall event this year included a DVD presentation about the Olympic Values which started the day with a focus on ideals such as Friendship, Determination, Courage and Respect. Also during the day, pupils took part in an Olympic Pledge workshop. Here all pupils had the chance to make their Olympic pledge for 2012.
