Tag Rugby Festival Results
The Redborne SSP ran its annual tag rugby festival this week. Unfortunately the heavy rain caused the festival on the 10th March to be cancelled due to the water logged pitches, but the water had cleared by the 11th allowing this festival to go ahead.
Over 200 pupils from 18 lower schools took part in an exciting and successful festival at Ampthill Rugby Club.
Coaches from Ampthill Rugby club were present at the festival to talent spot, give advice and support the referees. Sports leaders from Samuel Whitbread Community College and Wootton Upper School refereed the games, kept score and ran the score board.
The group stages kicked off with every school playing 4 x 10 minute games. The winners from each group then progressed into the semi finals, finishing with a very close final at the end between St Marys Stotfold and Shillington Lowers. Two first team players from Ampthill Rugby Club were there to present the winning team with their medals and give out autographs.
The winners now progress onto the county Tag Rugby Festival on the 24th March @ Luton RFC. Good luck.
Congratulations to:
Winners: St Marys Stotfold Lower
Fair Play Award: Chalton Lower
Thank you to everyone that took part or helped.
