Sport Bedford Home
SPORT BEDFORDThe Bedford CSN, or Sport Bedford as it is now called, was officially formed in April this year. The group was based on the existing Local Sports Council who has been operating successfully in the Borough for around 15 years.
The membership of Sport Bedford includes representatives from local sports clubs, schools, Higher Education, Primary Care Trust, Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity and Bedford Borough Council. The group’s primary aim is to help provide more opportunities for local people to participate in physical activity and we have a short term action plan that lists some realistic and achievable goals for the first 6 months:

Develop a grant giving process

Run an awards ceremony that recognises local talent

Investigate the possibility of running some IT training to assist with web site development

Current Sport Bedford funding has been provided by Bedford Borough Council and a small amount from Sport England has helped with the establishment of the network. The group hope to apply for external funding from other agencies to help deliver some of the aims and objectives identified in their action plan.
