ACTION PLAN AREA - Grant giving

RATIONALE - Sport Bedford has a significant “pot” of money for grant aid. It is important that this is seen to be promoted equally to all groups within the community.
The existing grant system needs to be reviewed and any changes agreed and then promoted in a user friendly way that allows local groups / individuals to benefit from funding support
The grant system is a real way to promote the benefits of Sport Bedford and an early clarification of the system will allow Sport Bedford to raise its profile and become more inclusive.
A fair and equitable grants system is an effective, sustainable way to help contribute to increasing participation.
TIME SCALES - It is anticipated that after consultation and information gathering a final proposal can be put to Sport Bedford in November 2006
FUNDING SOURCES - Funds are available and continuous applications need to be made to BBC for grant giving
Funds exist (Via CSN set ups to print / promote the scheme)
