PE & School Sport
Within Bedfordshire and Luton we have 8 School Sports Partnerships (SSP's), which, as of September 2006 will cover 100% of our schools. Each SSP has a Partnership Development Manager (PDM), based at a hub site. It is the job of the PDM to coordinate school sport under the governments PESSCL (PE, School Sport and Club Links) initiative, which aims to increase participation and give all young people access to 4 hours of sport a week by 2010 - 2 hours high quality PE within curriculum time, and a further 2 hours of sport outside school hours.
