School Sport Partnerships
Under the new PESSYP strategy, School Sport Partnerships remain the key driver for young people’s high quality sports opportunities within and beyond the curriculum. SSPs retain a responsibility for increasing participation opportunities, supporting the development and delivery of high quality physical education and school sport, but have also become much more outward looking, to ensure that appropriate pathways exist, or are being developed, for young people to access high quality sporting opportunities beyond the school gates. This will need to be done alongside many community partners, including local authority services,
county sports partnerships, voluntary agencies and national governing bodies.

Further Education Sport Co-ordinators (FESCo)
SSPs, CSPs and LAs have all been involved in national briefings on the roll-out of the programme during late April and May. These briefings have detailed the aims and objectives of the FESCo infrastructure, as well as providing further information on the application process. The key task will involve all partners in working together to ensure that the most
effective local relationships are established through the ongoing mapping of FE colleges into the SSP infrastructure.

County Sports Partnerships
CSPs will play an enhanced role in the delivery of the 5 hour offer. CSPs will lead the delivery of the Sport Unlimited work strand in addition to their current role within the Step into Sport work strand.

National Governing Bodies
NGBs will continue to play a key role in supporting the delivery of many work strands including Club Links, Step into Sport, Competition managers etc.
