* Appointed Persons First Aid in Sport
(practically based)

This 6 hour course will provide you with a HSE approved certificate and essential knowledge for dealing with incidents including control of bleeding, resuscitation, fractures, dislocations, sprains and strains and the contents of a 1st Aid box.

Tuesday 15th and Wednesday 16th July - Hightown Sports and Arts Centre, Luton. 19.00-22.00 (attendance required on both nights)

* Safeguarding and Protecting Children

Protect yourself and the young people you are working with by understanding and following good practice. Also learn about how to handle situations if you have concerns. This course is highly recommend for anyone who is in contact with children or young people in a sport setting.

Coaching Disabled Performers

Develop your own coaching knowledge and skills to coach disabled players through inclusive and separate coaching sessions. Discover new ways to adapt equipment and identify appropriate safety and medical considerations to meet your players’ needs.

Developing Power and Speed

This interactive workshop includes practical tips to develop power, straight line and lateral sport-specific speed, acceleration and agility for coaches of multiple sprint sports such as rugby, tennis and netball. The emphasis is on outlining how general and sport specific conditioning can be used to assist the performer to develop an essential component of the game.

Coaching Children and Young People

Discover the needs and motivation of young players and learn how to deliver effective coaching sessions to meet the level of skill, developmental stage and motivation of each young person.

An Introduction to the FUNdamentals of Movement (practically based)

This is a great three hour practically based course for teachers and coaches exploring the concepts of ABCs - agility, balance, co-ordination and speed. It compliments other coach education resources which may focus on the movement skills of running, hopping, skipping etc.  This workshop will assist you to observe, analyse and coach good movement patterns within sessions whether they are multi skill or sport specific. Please note that it is strongly recommended that those wishing to attend this course attend the Long Term Athlete Development course before hand, or have a good understanding of the principles of LTAD and the associated player pathways.

Educational Awareness Training

This seven hour course  is for ‘Adults Other Than Teachers Supporting Learners’ (AOTTSLs) working in the education sector who want to develop their understanding of high quality PE and school sport and its contribution to school improvement. AOTTSLs may include parents, coaches, sports development officers and volunteers.
