What is Belly Dancing?

Belly dancing is originally a solo, improvised dance involving torso articulation.

Belly dance has developed different styles, techniques and practices all over the world with the most popular being Egyptian belly dance, Turkish belly dance and Lebanese belly dance styles. Belly dancers often use props such as veils, zills, cane, Isis wings, sword and candles, among others when they perform. The costumes are an essential element to create atmosphere through a variety of colours, fabrics, textures, sequins, sparkles and forms.
