Understand Connect, Thrive: Developing Your Practice (Online Classroom)

You've got your kit sorted and you understand what makes the people who come to your sessions tick. BUT. How do you adapt your activities, your drills and your games to ensure every one of your people gets the most from their training or fitness sessions?

Are you a truly inclusive coach?

You think STEP, the Inclusion Spectrum and AIM (Activity Inclusion Model) are just for coaches in disability sport? Think again. We can guarantee that at the end of this session you will be able to:

  • understand what person-centred coaching means and how you can embed it into each session you coach
  • reflect on your own coaching practice
  • create and/or develop your own activities to include all participants who attend your coached sessions.

You will receive 3 months' access to an online version of this booklet that accompanies the Understand, Connect, Thrive: Developing Your Practice Online Classroom.

The 40-page resource pulls together research and insight on how to better engage people taking part in sport and physical activity.

It includes:

  • Activities to ignite your passion to learn.
  • Space for you to record your thinking, learning and planned actions.
  • An explanation of the PEOPLE acronym.
  • Sections on the art of noticing and observation, and advice on how to understand and connect with people.
  • A guide to the importance of Emotional Intelligence in helping people thrive.

The course has been awarded 2 CPD points by the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA).
