Coronavirus outbreak: Funding update
Sport England have issued initial guidelines in response to the unprecedented issues arising from the coronavirus outbreak in the UK. They have two key priorities:
1. Supporting the sector through this very challenging period.
2. Keeping the nation moving
The initial response in relation to support for the sector introduces a very flexible and understanding approach to the way in which they will manage their invested funds. If you are a recipient of Sport England funding please be advised that they are keen to hear from you and to try and find a solution that works for all parties. This could be the way that you wish to deliver your project; the timing of delivery; your outputs and outcomes or indeed the way in which funds are used.
They also highlight the significant concerns that the virus will have across our sector. Options are being considered to mitigate this, including potentially opening up the small grant fund to those clubs and groups who are losing income. We are expecting further information and guidance on this early next week. We will share this with you via our website as soon as we have it.

In the meantime we are keen to hear about the practical issues our community clubs and organisations are facing as a result of the virus and they ways in which we can practically help you. This will help us to share robust, on the ground intelligence with our national and local funders as well as trying to provide solutions to your issues.
Please do share these thoughts with Clare and Graham via email
We will also be checking the positions of other relevant local and national funders and providing updates via our website.
