At Inspired Playgrounds our vision is to create healthier, happier, more active children and reduce childhood obesity. We do this through the products, projects and training we deliver to schools. Our aim over the next 12 months is to maximise our impact across England and we need a number of tutors in different regions to help us do this on a flexible basis during term time.

Job Description

We are looking for individuals that are excited and enthusiastic to deliver training days and help us achieve our vision. A big part of the training days is inspiring the school during the day, the sports leaders chosen by the school, staff and the children taking part in the sessions.

Structure of the training day

  1. Sports leader training
    1. Generic leadership training – classroom based
    2. Training on how to use the markings
    3. Web app training
    4. Classes to come out and take part in sessions
      1. Initially the tutor to have more input
      2. By the end of the day the leaders to have complete ownership of this
      3. Staff training
        1. Web app training
        2. Any questions on the markings from the day
        3. Some schools may want a HIIT workout


It is essential that the successful candidate has a:

  • NGB Level 2 coaching qualification in at least one sport
  • Current First Aid qualification (must be completed prior to commencement of post).
  • Current Safeguarding and Protecting Children qualification (must be completed prior to commencement of post)
  • Full driving licence, access to own transport and willing to travel
  • Ability to teach PE to Key Stages 1 & 2
  • Working knowledge of the primary school national curriculum for teaching PE
  • Ability to use appropriate teaching styles
  • Extensive previous experience working in schools, leading sessions, working with children from all backgrounds, and maintaining control of large groups without direct support/supervision
  • To ensure students are taught according to their individual needs and abilities
  • To employ teaching strategies that engender enthusiasm and raise the aspirations of all students
  • Has energy and enthusiasm
  • A high level of personal organisation.

It is desirable that the successful candidate has a:

  • A degree in sport coaching or similar qualification
  • Experience of delivering similar projects and leadership training in schools


  • Attractive day rate - £200 + fuel allowance
  • Opportunity for further training and CPD days at the same rate
