I am excited to join teamBEDS&LUTON as their new Children and Young People Officer where I am supporting the development and delivery of our Children and Young People's strategy. I also organise the running of workshops for clubs, coaches and volunteers across Bedfordshire and Luton. My ultimate passions lies with working alongside people and using the values of sport and physical activity to inspire, influence and transform an individual's life for the better.
Throughout my childhood to the present, I've always tried out any sporting opportunities that came my way and that's where my love for sport blossomed. Since then, I've always wanted to pursue a career in sport and have worked with children and young people for most of my life. Before I joined the team, I was part of the leadership team for NCS (National Citizen Service) and I was an outdoor pursuits instructor at Center Parcs. I also studied Sport and Physical Education at the University of Bedfordshire and graduated with a First-Class Bachelor of Arts with Honours degree.
Outside of work, I enjoy playing netball, volunteering, and being active! I play WA/GA for my netball team 'Dodgers' and I volunteer and organise a variety of charity fundraisers and use the nature of physical activity to raise money. For example, I have organised walking and running charity fundraisers to increase the awareness of how important mental health is. Also, I enjoy exploring new places and walking!
