I started running after having my first child. I found the transition to parenthood hard and suffered from mental illness as a result. I started going to the gym, with the support of my family, and immediately began to feel happier in myself. I found running to be my most favourite activity. It wasn't long until I started to run regularly around Stewartby Lake, the same course as the Parkrun. I now have two children and regularly run with my youngest around the lake in his buggy. Parkrun is something I look forward to, when I can attend, as my dad usually runs with the buggy and I get to run alone (doesn't happen often!) I enjoy seeing other runners there with prams as well as I don't see it often enough. I always run faster during a Parkrun and look forward to beating my PB. My son also enjoys a nice nap on a Saturday morning.
