"I started running by following a couch to 5k program and during this I began going to parkrun. Although it took a while until I could actually manage to run the full 5k distance, the last 1k was always my nemesis! Even though I couldn't run the full 5k I never felt I was being judged by the other park runners and I would chat each week to the people around me. I soon made friends and parkrun became part of my Saturday ritual. The great thing about parkrun is anyone can take part, run, walk or jog, fast or slow, you will be welcome.
