"I love parkrun. Not only does it bring physical benefits but also mental benefits. After having a miscarriage I experienced depression, running helped me to overcome that. Parkrun is such a positive way to start the day. You will always go away from a parkrun feeling happy. Regardless of speed you have just accomplished 5k whilst the majority of people are still in bed, everyone at parkrun is so encouraging and supportive.
I also started volunteering at parkrun when my little boy was a couple of months old. My partner and mum used to run it. My grandpa was also a Marshall. When my little boy turned 1 he started to Marshall with his great grandpa allowing me to run parkrun. Through parkrun I fell in love with running.
This year I will be running my first marathon."
