On Friday 3rd February 2017 team BEDS&LUTON in partnership with Ampthill and Flitwick Flyers (AFF), England Athletics and Ben Salmons from 'Break the Stigma' held a #runandtalk event so people could combine exercise/physical activity whilst talking openly. To make sure everyone could attend we made the event a walk, jog and/or run so people weren't put off. This was very successful as 36 people met in the cafe at 9.30 am at Marston Vale Forest Centre ready and raring to go. There were a mixture of walkers and runners even a lady with a buggy. The Coaching Development Manager took the group of walkers out for 2 miles; 45 minutes in total. Paul Owen, Chairman of AFF and Mark Billington, Committee member and Level 2 coach at AFF took the group of runners for a variety of distances. We were very lucky as the weather held in our favour with the sun shining on us for a short period of time and there was no sign of storm 'Doris'. Once everyone had completed their activity we all met in the cafe to enjoy more talking over a piece of cake and a cuppa. It was a lovely morning and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Well done to all that attended! Watch this space for another #runandtalk session starting soon.
