NEW! Outdoor Activity Conference 2018

Do you want your school or organisation to be more active outdoors? This conference will provide you with information from experts in outdoor and adventure activities, as well as exit routes for your school to make the most of the services on offer. Book your place to hear from guest speakers and experts in the field!

WHAT TO EXPECT:

The day will be structured with practical workshop sessions around important skills and topics for outdoor activities including: Outdoor First Aid and Risk Management, Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme, Bushcraft and Adventure School Activities and Importance of Outdoor Activities and Learning based on research by Outdoor Industries Association and Sport England.

The Day will be filled with practical sessions, hints and tips from professional instructors and coaches with considerable experience delivering activities across the UK and overseas. The team have delivered award winning programmes including London 2012 Inspire Mark programmes that have inspired over 32,000 young people.

CONFIRMED:

Sean Rose: Our keynote for the event is Paralympian and former World Champion Sean Rose recently back from commentating for Channel 4 at Pyeong Chan Winter Games 2018. Sean a former X Games World Champion, was an RAF Physical Training Instructor before a skiing accident left him paralysed. Undeterred Sean went on to become a World Champion Skier and water skier as well as completing many adventures around the world.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

PE teachers, school/outdoor staff interested in the outdoors: Outdoor activities provide a structured way to learn sporting skills alongside life skills.

SENCO and behavioural support staff: Outdoor activities and watersports are a brilliant way to engage young people in learning and also provide a fun and rewarding learning experience. There is also an opportunity to work on raising self esteem away from the school environment.

Senior leadership Team interesting in developing life skills programmes: Life skills are a key competence used by the majority of employers to recruit staff and trainees. Helping young people develop a balanced CV with academic results and strong life skills will help their employability and also learning for life.

Duke of Edinburgh Leaders: Duke of Edinburgh Leaders can gain a broader inside into the opportunities to tailor and enhance their D of E programmes by attending this programme.
