The LBC Voluntary Sector Support team have launched their next set of FREE training for voluntary and community groups in Luton. They run a variety of training every quarter to support the voluntary sector Luton.

Course Title: Gendered Language Workshop - Understanding how gendered language impacts us everyday

This session is an introduction to gendered language and an opportunity to think about the words we use and the impact of what we say on others around us. Language is one of the most powerful means through which sexism and gender discrimination are perpetrated and reproduced.

We will cover:

  • Why gendered language matters
  • What is gendered language and why is it important to learn about it
  • Spotting gendered language
  • How you can make a difference
  • What organisations can do
