Johnathan Rudland and Sophie Warrener join team BEDS&LUTON

We welcomed two new recruits to team BEDS&LUTON over the summer – Johnathan Rutland and Sophie Warrener.

Johnathan joins the team as a Relationship Manager whose main focus areas will be community support, inclusive sport, mental wellbeing and social inclusion work and will have a key role in developing opportunities in the Bedford area of the county. Before joining team BEDS&LUTON Johnathan worked in the leisure and international education sector. His passion is creating opportunities for all to get physically active in whatever way they want to. Johnathan has been involved in large scale projects including Beat the Street, Children in Need and Activity on Referral where a behaviour change model was used to develop long term impact to peoples physical activity attitude. Outside of work, Johnathan sits on the board of British Dodgeball as the Director of National Teams, having previously managed both GB Dodgeball and England Dodgeball who successfully won two gold at the last world cup in 2018.

Sophie joins the team as the Insight and Impact Officer, a newly created role designed to ensure we utilise national and local insight to demonstrate and improve impact reporting. She joins us straight out of university after graduating with a First Class Honours degree in Sport Development with Coaching from Sheffield Hallam University. During her time at university, she had a hand in a range of projects including the Scottish Exiles Women's Rugby programme and the StreetGames Fit and Fed programme. She has also spent time working in local authority sport with Active Westminster and prior to this has worked in Parliament for her local MP.

Clare Fitzboydon Director of team BEDS&LUTON said "I am delighted that John and Sophie have joined us. Already they have been able to make a difference and I am excited about the impact they will both have in terms of supporting the sport and activity sector in Bedfordshire. "

We welcome them both to the team. Feel free to contact Sophie and Jonathan here
