Bronze medal for Luton's Nadeem Dalvi at Bulgarian U19 Open

Luton badminton player Nadeem Dalvi claimed a bronze medal at the APACS Bulgarian Junior U19s Open Championship held recently. The 16-year-old is back competing in his first year in the category, as he had a bye in the first round, before beating fourth seed Ayan Rashid 21-13, 21-7. Dalvi saw off French opponent Simon Baron-VezHier 21-13, 21-13 to earn a quarter-final tie with Slovakian Ziga Podgorsek, who he defeated 21-g, 21-10 to take on number One seed Cholan Kayan in the last four. His run then came to an end as he narrowly went down 21-16, 21-17 Dalvi was also involved in the mixed doubles tournament with Lisa Curtin as they were knocked out in the second round by Russian duo Maksim Ogloblin and Alena Lakovleva 16-21, 21-16, 21-16.
