Our Quest Review

We are delighted to have been awarded a 'Very Good' rating in a recent assessment by Quest, the UK quality assurance accreditation scheme for sport and leisure.

Active Partnerships such as team BEDS&LUTON help identify the best opportunities to increase sport and physical activity in their communities. Their focus is on inactive people and under-represented groups.

Quest is a Sport England recommended Continuous Improvement Tool for leisure facilities and sports development teams to improve the quality of service provided to customers.

The assessment highlighted that team BEDS&LUTON has strong initiatives in place such as:

  • their local investment work to secure funding to improve sporting facilities across Bedfordshire which has led to £419.5k secured across 6 projects/clubs in the county.
  • their nationally recognised school games programme saw 3537 school children take part in 2018
  • the continuing development of 'satellite clubs' which created 19 new clubs for 14-19 in 2018
  • campaigns which helped position them as a key partner for disability and mental health and wellbeing initiatives including 'No Limits' and the creation of an adapted bikes scheme across the county which now sees 90-100 adults with disabilities attend each month.

Director of team BEDS&LUTON, Lloyd Conaway, said: "We are immensely proud of our 'Very Good' rating as it rewards our commitment to makingBedfordshire a healthier, happier and fitter county. In sport we are always looking for a way to raise the bar, and we are delighted to have set it so high. With our partners and the people of Bedfordshire we will continue to strive to be the best."

Kevin Wyld team BEDS&LUTON Board Chairman said "The Board is very proud of team BEDS&LUTON for achieving a 'Very Good' rating. We believe that this demonstrates the team's commitment to our strategy: To work in partnership to support, develop and promote safe, high quality and inclusive opportunities for people to participate in sport and physical activity for life".
